If you are not aware, then let me start by informing you that RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. You can use it to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in your favorite blogs (like mine) without having to go back and visit them individually. If you are a blogger, then you will know that making a post is not very easy. What I mean is, it’s a matter of many hours of work and effort every single day to come up with good content for your blog, and usually most of the time you don’t even get to grasp the popularity that your blog generates. It’s just like posting articles on an e-magazine or webpages in a blogspot or wordpress site. Take for instance this popular English language blog called “Onemindfulblog” which has been gaining massive attention since it launched way back in 2006: http://www.onemindfulblog.com/. The reason this site has gained such popularity is that it focuses on giving people information about how to live their lives better. It provides tips on daily living, tips on how to make your life simpler, more enjoyable and more fulfilling. But this site has risen to popularity not due to its content but on the power of RSS. This blog provides regular updates through RSS on what’s happening in the personal life of the blogger (her husband and kids) as well as what is happening at the business level of the blogger who owns Onemindfulblog. Her RSS feed contains “What’s Hot” updates of what is happening with the family, the business, news of success and more. And since Onemindfulblog is a popular blog, people are already starting to follow it through their RSS feed. So this leads to an increased number of visitors to the blog. Since people are already following the blog, they are also helping make the blog succeed by leaving comments on the posts. This will in turn lead to more valuable content being posted on the blog. Since Onemindfulblog is still new, it has not yet reached its full potential in bringing in valuable information for its readers. By using RSS, Onemindfulblog can reach that potential sooner then it would have if it had to depend solely on an article publishing schedule. And because of this blog’s popularity through RSS, Onemindfullblog is now at a good stage where it is being taken care of by the community.
